Ishkhan Saghatelyan, representative of the General Assembly of the ARF Armenia, deputy of the Armenia faction of the RA NA, wrote:
"Armenia is not a vilayet of Azerbaijan, where Baku should dictate judgments.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan allows itself to openly interfere in the internal affairs of our country and demand that the citizens of Armenia be held accountable for the action that took place during the torchlight procession.
It is clear that the ruler of Baku's dreams is now in power in RA and condemns the national actions held in his own country along with the enemy. But even under these conditions, insolence and impudence must have a measure.
One can only imagine what a disastrous level Armenia's sovereignty is at, when the neighboring aggressor state gives instructions to the RA state system at the level of the Foreign Ministry. This is a direct proof that Baku no longer considers Armenia as an independent entity.
It is clear that any mention of the Genocide is traumatic for Azerbaijan, because it reminds them of their own similar crimes like a mirror. However, identifying with Turkey to the extent that they also take responsibility for the Armenian Genocide, demanding to punish the participants of the commemoration action, is too much even for a country like Azerbaijan.
This is no longer just a question of the flag. This is a question about who decides what is permissible and what is not in our country.
But the decisions of Baku and Ankara are for Nikol's regime, never for our people and national forces."
