White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt announced that she is pregnant. She and her husband are waiting for the second child. Their daughter will be born in May next year.
"My husband and I are happy for the addition of our family and we are looking forward to our son becoming a big brother," she wrote on her Instagram page, posting a photo of herself near the Christmas tree.
"My heart is full of gratitude to God for the blessing of motherhood, which I truly believe is the closest thing to heaven on Earth," he said.
In his post, Leavitt thanked President Donald Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for their support and "creating a family atmosphere in the White House."
