The world's tallest bridge has been opened in China

The suspension bridge under construction over the Huatszian gorge in Kingzzau, China, has been opened for traffic. According to CNA, from the bottom of the bridge to the floor of the gorge, the distance of the Bakan River is 625 meters, which makes the new bridge the highest in the world.

The construction of the Huazang Gorge Bridge lasted three years and nine months, costing 2 billion yuan (about $ 280 million). The length of the structure is 2.9 kilometers. The local authorities have stated that the new bridge reduces the other side of the gorge "from two to two minutes," that its launch improves the regional transport network and "gives a new impetus to the economic and social development of the region."
