"Fact" daily writes:
Recently, Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev received the "Zayed" human brotherhood 2026 award. The day after the award ceremony, the Baku court published the verdicts of our compatriots held in Azerbaijan. We often come across discussions that even the neighbors clarifying their relations with each other take steps for reconciliation, they don't attack each other so that little by little the relations improve, and here, neighboring Azerbaijan shows with its attitude and steps that the peace it imagines is different from the peace we imagine. Political scientist Gagik Hambaryan says. "We fought and lost in a shameful way. And now, after that defeat, our country is again represented by someone who kneels before the Turk. So, there can be no question of a dignified peace here. As for the "judgments" made by the Baku court, they were all expected, we all know very well that they are fake court shows.
The publication of those judicial acts has several purposes. The first is that with this, official Baku simply humiliates the Armenian people, showing that your struggle for Artsakh ended like this. Secondly, this is also a warning to all those patriots who will try to raise their heads in the future and talk about Artsakh again. this is a threat. And thirdly, it is not excluded that the Azerbaijani side organized all this before the US Vice President Vance's visit to the region in order to "sell" those people who are already in hostage status to the Republic of Armenia at an even higher price, showing the United States of America that it is taking a very big humanitarian step. We all have to understand that everything has its price. The Azerbaijani side does not do anything by chance, nothing is done by chance in terms of chronology, everything is done specifically and purposefully," said Hambaryan in an interview with "Pasti". With these steps, the president of Azerbaijan shows that there is no peace or there is peace in his preferred version. "Ilham Aliyev says that Azerbaijan has established peace in the South Caucasus, that is, the president of Azerbaijan openly shows that Nikol is just his henchman, doing what he orders. The Azerbaijani side will sell the so-called peace to Nikol at a very high price, and the latter will pay for it at the expense of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian people. The problem here is some part of our society, which really does not understand why, for example, the Azerbaijani side does not shoot, why it does not present new demands at this time. For the Azerbaijani side, the reproduction of Nikol Pashinyan is as necessary as air and water, who will pay an even higher price to Aliyev if he retains power.
There are several points, some of which he almost fulfilled to some extent: opening of the "Zangezur Corridor", almost disbanding the Armenian army, changing the Constitution. The demands to fill Armenia with only Azerbaijanis, as well as to provide compensation to Azerbaijan and apologize to it, have not yet been fulfilled. On the other hand, information is circulating in the media that Azerbaijan will have its share in TRIPP. On August 8, 2025, when the "TRIPP" agreement was signed in Washington, the American media made publications, according to which, within the framework of that program, Azerbaijan will receive 30 percent of the benefits from the infrastructure passing through the territory of Armenia. This is very surprising. One of the most important demands placed before Pashinyan's government, if he is re-elected, is to "reset" 300 to 400 thousand Azerbaijanis in Armenia. It will have disastrous consequences for the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian people after some time," our interlocutor observes. Parliamentary elections are ahead.
Nikol Pashinyan and the representatives of his team confidently say that they will be re-elected with "50+1", "60+1" votes. Opinions differ as to what is the basis of this trust. But mostly they are divided into several groups: the administrative resource will be put into action, everything will be done so that a small number of people participate in the elections, there is external support from Europe, Turkey and Azerbaijan, Nikol Pashinyan makes these statements primarily for his team. "They have no confidence in getting re-elected.
It's just political technology that is used in almost every country, and Nicole uses it. Name one government that is trying to reproduce itself, and suddenly naively, knowing that it has a very low rating, accepts it. There is no such thing and it cannot be. Pashinyan's main goal is to dispel the pessimism of his team and supporters, he tries to keep their spirit high with false optimism. On the other hand, he is also trying to create pessimism among those who did not vote for him and to instill such moods in the society, especially the opposition mass, that they will not go to the elections.
His only salvation is the participation of very few people in the elections, because we know from the example of the elections that took place in Armenia until now that Pashinyan and his team tried to win votes in those elections with many mechanisms, but the problem is that all the mechanisms of electoral fraud come to nothing when a large number of people go to the polls. A vivid example of this is the Gyumri local government elections. It is true that I have said many times that local government and national elections are different, but the problem is that a large number of voters' participation has a great influence on the results of the elections.
Nikol Pashinyan lost in Gyumri as a result of a large number of voters. Let's remind that during the Gyumri elections, the CP candidate said, "You will come to congratulate me tomorrow." They hoped to have "50+1" votes, but it turned out that they collected only 37 percent with the bonus system. The Gyumri local government elections showed that Pashinyan's playing cards in all formats, obtaining votes through fraud, are "broken" in case of the participation of a large number of voters. Yes, it is very important for a large number of people to participate in the parliamentary elections," concludes Gagik Hambaryan.
