Egypt has returned an ancient bust of Pharaoh Thutmose III from the Netherlands

Egypt has received a previously stolen bust from the Netherlands, which belongs to the reign of pharaoh Thutmose III (15th century BC), the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Archeology reported.

"Egypt's embassy in the Netherlands has received the head of a statue made of granodiorite, which was illegally taken out of the country," the ministry's statement said.

"The statue most likely dates back to the New Kingdom era, specifically to the era of Pharaoh Thutmose III," the same statement said.

Previously, the Minister of Tourism and Archeology of Egypt, Sherif Fati, told RIA Novosti that over the past 10-12 years, Egypt has returned 30,000 figurines that were previously illegally taken out of the country.
