Washington informed Kiev that due to the mid-term elections of the Congress to be held in November, the US administration will most likely pay less attention to the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was reported by the Reuters agency, referring to its sources.
As noted in the publication, "American negotiators have stated that US President Donald Trump is likely to pay more attention to domestic issues as midterm congressional elections approach, which means that key officials will have less time and political resources to ensure the achievement of peace agreements."
Mid-term elections in the USA will be held on November 3. During them, one third of the members of the Senate of the US Congress and the entire composition of the House of Representatives will be re-elected. Both chambers of the US legislature are currently under Republican control.
