The United States and Iran have announced that the possibility of reaching an agreement on ending the military conflict has become more realistic. According to Reuters, a high-ranking representative of the American administration noted that the parties have agreed on the text of the document at the preliminary level and expect to sign the first agreement in the next few days.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that some provisions of the agreement can still be changed, but emphasized that Tehran came out of the situation with a stronger position. At the same time, the tension in the region is maintained. According to Reuters sources, the US forces shot down several Iranian drones that were moving towards the Strait of Hormuz. US Central Command later reported that the strait remains open to navigation.
It is reported that the document under discussion envisages the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, easing restrictions on Iranian ports and further negotiations on Iran's nuclear program. According to publications, the issue of frozen Iranian assets, energy restrictions and security guarantees may also be discussed at the next stage.
At the same time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that his country will not be a party to a possible agreement. Against the backdrop of regional developments, the world markets gave a positive response with the increase of stock indices and the fall of oil prices.
