Former Speaker of the Artsakh Parliament David Ishkhanyan, in his regular message from the Baku prison, referred to the ongoing trials against Armenian prisoners, noting that “the verdict has been made long ago,” reports Sputnik Armenia. According to Ishkhanyan, the defense speeches of the arrested Armenians were interesting and unique, but both in the court of first instance and during this trial, the prosecutor’s office representatives and the judge, according to him, unreasonably interfered with the speeches and did not allow them to finish.
The “political” court could not have been otherwise, the former Speaker of the Artsakh Parliament noted. He also singled out one of the lawyers who had warned in the court of first instance that future generations would be ashamed of these trials. According to Ishkhanyan, in political and moral terms, the prosecution lost the process, and the Armenian prisoners will end up in an international court.
He also referred to what he described as one-sided coverage of the trials, including by the media considered “liberal,” in a separate address to Radio Liberty. Ishkhanyan noted that during the two-year trial, in both instances, the defense side did not receive either the indictment, the indictment, or the verdict of the first instance court.
