Volunteers have been showing Disney cartoons to children in the Gaza Strip. The screenings are taking place in front of bombed residential buildings and structures. The Palestinian mission to the UN released a photo on September 6.
“While the war in Gaza continues, we are doing everything we can to take them out of this atmosphere of fear, even if it is just for a few hours,” project coordinator Asma Dababesh said of the screenings, as quoted by The Washington Post (WP).
According to the Post, the cartoon screenings are part of the “Little Wings” mobile cinema initiative for children in the Gaza Strip, launched by the Masharawi Fund, a Palestinian filmmakers’ foundation.
