"Zhoghovurd" daily writes: "A few days ago, an international study (according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)) caused serious discussions in Armenia, according to which 15-year-olds in our country have a serious literacy problem in mathematics, science and reading, the latest study documents.
According to the source, about 1% of Armenian students were top performers in math, almost no students were top performers in science, and almost no students scored a 5 or higher in reading. According to these indicators, Armenia ranks last in the region, behind Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey. The pedagogues who alerted the "Zhoghovurd" daily claim that Armenian letters are already endangered due to Zhanna Andreasyan's activity or inaction, many children have started to think that Latin letters are easy to communicate with and the Armenian alphabet is very difficult. To our question, is there a certain program from the ministry or is there a methodological manual for schools to at least talk to students on this topic, they gave us a negative answer. One of the pedagogues teaching Armenian language in one of Yerevan's schools said that simple notes written on paper can already be seen in Latin letters, which was not the case before.
It turns out that, as a result of his inaction, the Minister of Internal Affairs will one day have to explain that the Armenian youth does not write Mesro, or perhaps the day is not far when they start talking about Mesrop Mashtots being "former". there are about two dozen alphabets in the world, one of which is ours.
