The newspaper "Hraparak" writes: "In September, we wrote that Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin will say goodbye to Armenia; neither the Armenian authorities nor Russia are satisfied with the ambassador, who has been serving since April 2018, considering that he bears some responsibility for the growing anti-Russian sentiments in Armenia.
The name of Kopirkin's successor is being discussed in Russia: Alexander Vadimovich Sternik is a high-ranking diplomat, director of the Third Department for CIS countries of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2012, and is engaged in relations with Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan).
He has worked at the Russian Mission to the United Nations in New York. From 2005 to 2011, he was senior counselor at the Russian Embassy in the United Kingdom, and from 2011 to 2012, deputy director of the Russian MFA Department for Pan-European Cooperation.
