The newspaper "Past" writes: "The recent local self-government elections took place in an environment exclusively accompanied by tension, inequality, and unprecedented pressure. Due to total pressures exerted by the authorities, targeted arrests, continual use of administrative resources, and artificial obstacles, the ruling force largely succeeded in having the ruling party participate alone in many communities.
Against this overwhelming background, most territorial structures of the opposition field naturally avoided participation, understanding that under the conditions created, their local resources would have to fight an unequal struggle against the state’s press machine. Nevertheless, there were communities where opposition parties did participate, including the "Country to Live" party, which participated in six communities and in all exceeded the electoral threshold. Specifically, "Country to Live" registered results of 18.82% in Meghri, 16.24% in Dilijan, 8.84% in Artik, 7.20% in Jermuk, 6.41% in Goris (as the "Country to Live Vote" alliance), and 4.81% in Martuni.
Additionally, upcoming local elections are expected on November 29 in several other communities including Noyemberyan and Kapan, where the "Country to Live" party has already nominated candidates and will participate.
