The President of Brazil has started to take retaliatory measures against US customs duties

Brazilian President Luis Inasio Lula said Silva, Silva has ordered the process of initiating 50% of US customs duties, BLOOMBERG reports, citing vice president Geraldo Alkini.

"I hope this will contribute to the acceleration of dialogue and negotiations," he said.

In addition, the source of the agency clarified that the Brazilian authorities officially inform the US government on their decision on August 29.
According to Bloomberg, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Chamber will decide within 30 days whether US events meet the law on economic reciprocity. If so, a group of ministers will develop a list of countermeasures.

Earlier, Trump has set 50% customs duties on a number of Brazilian products, including meat and coffee.
