At least 11 people were killed by landslides in the Ipatinga region of Brazil. According to Euromedia24, the Brazilian branch of CNN reported this on January 12.

According to the Minas Gerais Military Fire Service, two of the victims are eight-year-old children. Five more adults aged 31 to 55, as well as four elderly people, did not survive the disaster.

A search is underway to locate other possible victims.
