The Foreign Ministry appreciated the words of the head of the NATO Military Committee about strikes on Russia

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented to RIA Novosti on the statement of the head of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, about preventive strikes on Russia.

“Apparently, they didn’t finish reading the updated nuclear doctrine,” she said.

Earlier on Monday, Bauer said that NATO was changing its attitude to the idea that the alliance is only a defensive alliance whose members "will sit and wait to be attacked." He argues that in the event of a conflict with Russia, the countries of the bloc should be the first to launch a combination of high-precision strikes on its territory.
