The political field of Armenia is facing a choice with which these authorities have nothing to do. Vahe Hovhannisyan, a member of the "Alternative Projects" group, wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"The essence of that choice is as follows. fight to take power or opposition in the upcoming elections?
In the first case, it is to go to the elections with a different state of mind, with a strong determination, with a real assessment of one's own opportunities, and the other is to fight for the comfort of the opposition, the motivation of which is exclusively personal. The government naturally has its calculations, and the competitive image of 2021 is favorable to it.
The government naturally understands that it does not have the previous votes (680 thousand), but it also understands that the others also do not have the indicators they recorded.
The same competitive field with proportional (or even disproportionate) losses will give the power a chance to reproduce itself. The power goes to the elections openly. New forces, new units, new alliances, and new ideas are needed to defeat this government through extraordinary or regular elections and to have a deep restart in the country.
It is not a matter of loving or not loving here, and I must emphasize, it is not a present-past question. the actors of 2021 also have the right to participate in the upcoming elections and the probability of success. It is another matter that it should be done in the right formats and with the right words. I am sure that in the upcoming elections, be it regular or special, it is more than possible to win and form a new government.
But it is possible to do it if there are new units, new alliances, even if at the moment they seem improbable, with something new to say. At least for the simple reason that the realities of today and 2021 are completely different.
Simply put.
the government will go to the elections exclusively to keep the power. it has nothing to offer to Armenia. If we can form a collective force(s) that will go to the elections to take power and offer something new to Armenia, we will be successful.
And if the problem is to once again be in the opposition, then it is a service of private interest, and the architects and participants of the opposition forces should accept it honestly from the very beginning. "The Armenian voter is ready to leave the house and go to the polling station if he sees that there is a problem and an opportunity to change the government."
