Israel intends to maintain military control over certain border areas of Lebanon, Syria and part of the Gaza Strip. Israel Defense Minister Israel Katz announced this while commenting on the US-Iran negotiations.
"Israel will not withdraw its forces from the security zones of Lebanon, Syria and Gaza. The IDF will continue to protect our borders and our citizens from the top of Mount Hermon to the mountains of Lebanon, the Samaria region (the northern part of the West Bank) and most of Gaza from the threats of jihadist forces and organizations, learning an important lesson from the events of October 7," Katz wrote in his letter.
According to the minister, Israel has a "clear and unambiguous security concept". "We work against threats and seek solutions, not compromises and concessions," he added.
