The European Union (EU) plans to increase defense expenses in the new budget of 2028-2034, the European Commission President Ursula Von der Layen stated this.
According to Von der Lairs, the funds will be used to re-equipment EU member states, strengthening foreign borders and Ukraine.
"Our goal is to significantly strengthen the defense capabilities and eliminate the gaps that exist at the moment," he said during a press conference in Latvia, which was broadcast in the Utubyan Channel of the European Commission.
