The EU will resume sanctions on Iran

The European Tri-Chiefs of the European Tri-Britain told the members of the UN Security Council on the launch of the mechanism to restore sanctions on Iran, according to Axios portal, citing two European diplomats.

"France, Germany and Great Britain have sent a letter to members of the UN Security Council on Thursday, announcing the launch of the mechanism to restore UN sanctions against Iran," the portal writes.

Axios, citing three sources directly familiar with the situation, stated that the EU3 will launch a mechanism that will restore all the sanctions on the UN Security Council. An anonymous European diplomat said that the activation of the mechanism does not mean the end of diplomacy, and that the EU3 will be ready to cooperate with Iran for several weeks until the sanctions come into force.
