The Georgian police informed about the arrest of several participants of the protest action that started during the inauguration of the new president in Tbilisi on Sunday morning.
It is reported that six people were detained in the city center for "administrative offenses", but all were soon released. It is not mentioned what specific crimes the arrested have committed.
The protest started in the morning on Rustaveli Avenue, when President Salome Zurabishvili left her residence. Earlier, the politician refused to recognize the legitimacy of the new president, Mikheil Kavelashvili, who was appointed outside the national election procedure.
Several thousand supporters greeted Zurabishvili, saw him off with applause, and then moved to the parliament building.
