The "Fact" daily writes:
A number of leading European countries, which are in the position of human rights, democracy and international law, are particularly a clear eye on the recent violations of human rights abuses in Baku. The standards are guided by the European community.
This visit of a high-ranking EU official becomes more worrying that Azerbaijan's regime continues to put pressure on the domestic opposition, violates the rights of national minorities, and in its foreign policy are guided by the practice of military blackmail, aggression and ethnic cleansing. In fact, the EU continues to consider a "trusted" partner to dictator Aliyev, thus lighting a green light that he will take new crimes, including war, and stay unpunished. After all, it is not the first time that Europe has shown that Azerbaijani oil and gas are often more prevalent than human rights, democracy and universal values.
The US behavior raises questions. In Washington, the authoritarian nature of Aliyev's regime and the inadmissibility of unmaddle actions, especially the issue of political prisoners related to Artsakh, the lack of freedom of speech, but continue to see them. The latest evidence of this is that the US President's special envoy Steven Wittoff visits Baku. Meanwhile, the country should have been suspended for a long time. Perhaps in Washington, the defense that Azerbaijan can be considered a possible anti-Iranian and anti-Russian platform, occupying an important position in the South Caucasus in terms of geopolitical interests. However, such a short-sighted policy is pregnant with serious consequences, an example for the activities of other political regimes. Azerbaijan has even allowed Baku to act as a dictator in certain issues. Official Baku is demanding that Ankara not open the border with Armenia until Yerevan fulfilled all the preconditions for Baku. The current behavior of Azerbaijan is seriously a threat.
Baku is trying to turn its territory into a possible drums in the context of initiating military operations by other forces in the direction of Iranian border areas. It is true that Iran speaks at different levels that will not allow the intervention of external forces in the Caucasus, but does not take practicing steps in this direction. Azerbaijan's militarization of military potential with the support of Turkey and Israel is a clear signal to raise its vigilance to the South Caucasus.
However, the government's failure to promote its own interests, as well as the international partners, has become only a passive player. And the lack of a serious perception of the strengthening of their own army, the deepest understanding of the interests of the regional players for the Armenian statehood is a serious threat to the Armenian statehood today.
