Two London apartments, attributed to Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, are up for sale. The property is located on Palace Green in Kensington, less than 50 meters from the Israeli embassy.
As reported The Sunday Times, the apartments, located on the sixth and seventh floors of the building, were purchased through intermediaries in 2014 and 2016. One of them, which was bought in 2016 for 19 million pounds, is now on the market for 12 million pounds. The second was bought for 16.75 million pounds, but its current price is not known.
According to the newspaper, the sale is connected with Iranian banker Ali Ansari, who was sanctioned by the British authorities and accused of allegedly acting as an intermediary for Khamenei.
After Ansari stopped paying his mortgage, the British authorities decided to sell the property.
Earlier, British media drew attention to the location of the apartments: "they are so close to the Israeli embassy that you can see the back of it from there." The properties also have servants' quarters and private roof terraces.
At the same time, British media have linked the apartments to Khamenei, but this has not been officially confirmed.
