The daily newspaper "Fact" writes:
The accused person, who has obvious health problems, is in a bedridden state, is being arrested in the most brutal manner, dragged to the court on a stretcher and placed in the courtroom like that. This is the daily life of the "bastion of democracy", and not a picture from a documentary about fascist concentration camps or Stalinist repressions. This scene is enough to give an idea of how much the given social system has been undermined, to what depths of decline this given government, along with its repressive apparatus, has reached. And it is absolutely unimportant who the person is, what he is accused of.
This is a phenomenon that characterizes not the person, but those who give the order to do such a thing, those who do it and those who enjoy it, and “stamps” their profile. But that, as it turned out, was not all. Nikol Pashinyan practically not only confirmed that all of this was done with his knowledge and for his own benefit, but he himself “sealed” the above: “On the contrary, I want to thank all those members of our law enforcement system, starting with the employees holding that stretcher, who took the dummy to the exact place where they needed to take him. ... I want to express my satisfaction with those scenes.” Here, the “key” formulation in all of this is precisely that.
"I want to express my satisfaction with those scenes." Whether it was said unintentionally, subconsciously, or intentionally, is not important. The fact remains a fact. It seems that no one can feel good about such a scene, let alone have a feeling of satisfaction. Regardless of what attitude one has towards a person, whether a crime was committed or not, what is proven in court or not. Regardless of everything. What was done, let us repeat, does not characterize the tortured, but the torturers and those who feel satisfaction, joy, and spiritual exaltation from it. Such a scene cannot be pleasant to a person.
This is precisely the problem that someone who feels good, rejoices and rejoices in such scenes is at the helm of the country. And this is the same person who, when appropriate, pretends to be a “hard” Christian, recites psalms by heart, and shows off his fingernails every day. And what Pashinyan said about satisfaction is, by and large, a self-confessional statement. In other words, the fact that masked “law enforcement officers” attack people, regardless of age, position, income, gender, or health status, and can dismember people, hit them, throw them to the ground, intimidate children, and make their families suffer, is all done to please Pashinyan.
The worst thing is that the law enforcement system is used to feel good about such scenes, to “glorify the soul.” Another pillow is placed under their wings, or “thank you.” No, guys, there is nothing “thankful” in what you have done. Regardless of how justified or unfounded it is in legal terms, inhumanity, cruelty and ruthlessness cannot be something to be thanked for. In order to “feel good” for one person, you are dragged into not only illegality, injustice, but also inhumanity.
P.S.- The article was ready for publication when it became known that Gagik Khachatryan’s defense team had submitted an application to the European Court of Human Rights for the application of an urgent measure. The application asks the European Court to order the Armenian government to immediately release Gagik Khachatryan, to refrain from the practice of continuously moving him from place to place on a stretcher, and to lift the ban on absence as a preventive measure so that he can travel abroad to receive the required treatment.
