Astana is preparing to sign important documents with Russia during Putin's visit

Kazakh authorities expect the signing of important cooperation documents during the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the Russian mass media, the Chairman of the Senate (upper house) of the Kazakh Parliament, Maulen Ashimbayev, announced this during a bilateral meeting with the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matviyenko.

"Our embassy is actively working, the government is actively working, I think the visit will be significant, many important contracts will be discussed, important documents will be signed," he said.

Ashimbaev noted that Astana is also waiting for Matvienko's official visit, which is planned after Putin's visit.

"We miss you, we are waiting for you because we want to communicate more, we are waiting for your official visit," he said, addressing Matvienko.

The meeting was held in St. Petersburg within the framework of the session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS member states.

Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to Kazakhstan will take place on November 27. Earlier, Putin visited Kazakhstan on an official visit in November 2023. In July 2024, he participated in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana.
