Political scientist Suren Surenyants, referring to the statement of Defense Minister Suren Papikyan in the parliament yesterday, writes:
""A citizen of Armenia renounces RA citizenship to his child so that he does not serve in the armed forces. I think that we should subject those around us to lustration", stated the Minister of Defense, adding that he has already appealed to the Prime Minister to start a similar process in the state administration system.
"In my opinion, the state official should not allow himself that not only his child, but also the children of his close circle, relatives renounce Armenian citizenship," Papikyan emphasized.
In my opinion, Papikyan's statement would be much more valuable and consequential if he announced the names of officials from the NA podium.
In the opposite case, it turns out that the parliamentary podium is again used for populism, which is disgusting, especially since this populism can be a cover, in the shadow of which the question of specific responsibility for the recorded murders is kept silent."
