Iranologist Vardan Voskanyan wrote: "Last night and this morning, the Iranian official mass media also spread the statement of the spokesman of the central headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces "Khatam al-Anbiya" regarding the dictatorial regime in Baku.
It specifically states:
We declare to the neighboring country of Iran, the Republic of Azerbaijan, as an Islamic state, that in order to prevent the spread of instability in the region, the Zionists must be removed from that country and the security of its own people and Islamic Iran must not be endangered.
The statement has the nature of an obvious warning, and despite the "bold" rhetoric, the dictator of Baku knows very well that at least tens of thousands of faithful Shiites in his country considered the martyred Ayatollah Khamenei as their spiritual leader, which is why the word "Islamic" is emphasized twice in the statement.
