Free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz is in the interests of all countries, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun, commenting on US President Donald Trump's announcement to restrict shipping in the region.
“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital international trade route for goods and energy logistics. Maintaining security, stability and unhindered navigation there is in the interests of the international community," he emphasized.
The diplomat called on the parties to show restraint and reaffirmed Beijing's willingness to "continue to play a positive and constructive role" in resolving the crisis.
