Iranologist Vardan Voskanyan writes:
"It is noteworthy that during the brief press conference held after the visit of US Vice President Vance to Armenia yesterday, three of the four main and one additional questions were about Iran, and all three were asked by representatives of the American media.
This is another indicator of how important the issue of relations with Iran is for the United States, in the context of which, unfortunately, Armenia does not seek to carry out any mediation mission, trying to increase its geopolitical weight and also get a certain privileged status with both sides.
It is in such difficult situations that not only risks appear for states like Armenia, but also opportunities, which are difficult but honorable and useful to realize, and to miss is an unforgivable extravagance."
