Aliyev complained about Russia

The violation of the Azerbaijani civilian plane and the reaction of Russian officials to the incident in Azerbaijan caused the rise and dissatisfaction of the Russian officials.

According to APA, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated this in an interview with Al Arabia TV channel.

He also recalled that during the second War of Artsakh, on November 9, Azerbaijan accidentally scored a Russian helicopter, which "approached the Azerbaijani border, where it should not have been."

"Because for 30 years, Russian helicopters have never approached the territory of Armenia on the Azerbaijani border. It was flying from Armenia. For those who hit it, it was obvious that the Armenian helicopter was going to penetrate our territory, and they hit it. Immediately, on the same day, I called the President of Russia and apologized.

We immediately paid compensation to the families of the killed pilots and the Ministry of Defense. We have launched an investigation, and those who made this tragic mistake were held accountable. We have not seen such a thing from Russia. This tragic event of November 9 and our behavior give us the basis to expect the same attitude towards Azerbaijan, as the two countries call each other friends. But it was a big surprise. And they still don't say what happened. So of course, this is a very serious situation in our bilateral relations. But we didn't want this relationship to worsen. Yes, our people were disappointed, angry, outraged. We expected that sooner or later the investigation would end.

But then these unfounded attacks on Azeris began in Russia. Two people were tormented and killed. And later, official information was said that they had died of a heart attack. Even if they committed a crime 20 years ago, they were people. You can't do that with them. What attitude is this? Among them were Azerbaijani citizens and Russian citizens, Azerbaijani origin. This was an unprecedented action against our people. We are not responsible for deteriorating relations. We react constructively and by law, but we will never tolerate any sign or manifestation of aggression or disrespect against us, "said the head of state.

Aliyev noted that Russia has a military base in Armenia with several thousand servicemen.

According to him, the borders of Armenia with Iran and Turkey are controlled by Russian border guards. "There are no Russian soldiers in Azerbaijan. I don't know what can happen in Armenia. But I don't want to think about such a negative outcome. " Aliyev also expressed support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine and accused Russia of invasion.

"And again, returning to the discussion on Azerbaijani-Russian relations, we have supported the territorial integrity of Ukraine since the first days of Ukraine's invasion of Ukraine and continue to support it. And, of course, the unity and territorial integrity of Syria are the most important condition of any relationship. And not only the legal unity and border control, but also physical unity. The country must have a centralized system or, at least a system with existing political institutions. We are resolutely against any separatism of separatism, be it in Karabakh, in Syria or elsewhere in the world, "said the head of state.
