The countries of the European Union intend to start official negotiations on the inclusion of Moldova and Ukraine already on June 25. This was reported by Politico's European periodical, referring to five diplomats.
According to the newspaper, the member states announced this intention back in 2023. in December, but the decision was delayed due to Hungary's disagreement and the fear that the issue of EU enlargement could become a key topic during the European Parliament elections, which will be held on June 6-9.
