On January 17, the Lori Region Police Operational Control Center received a call that the door of a guest house in Stepanavan, which is not yet operational, had been opened and seven televisions had been stolen. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs Police.
The information was transferred to the Stepanavan Department of the Community Police, from where an operational group left for the scene.
A criminal proceeding was initiated in the Stepanavan Investigation Department, within the framework of which appropriate measures were taken. It was also necessary to cooperate with the officers of the Main Department of the Criminal Police, and information was received that the theft of the televisions was committed by two 24-year-old young men from Stepanavan and a 41-year-old man from the village of Sverdlov, in a “Ford” car he was driving.
The information was checked, confirmed, and as a result of explanatory work, on January 31, the 41-year-old man presented 6 stolen televisions to the Stepanavan Department. Regarding the seventh television, he reported that it was broken and thrown away.
The “Ford” car was moved to a specially protected area.
Measures are being taken to identify the young men from Stepanavan.
The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
