“Alen Simonyan, answering a journalist’s question about when he could return to Artsakh, cynically replies that “he had to fight.”
Let’s remember together how one of the greatest tragedies in Armenian history took place, one of the organizers of which is the same Alen Simonyan.
1. The Armenian authorities, led by Nikol Pashinyan, rejected the latest proposal of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs in 2019, created a mess in the negotiation process and “freed the hands of the mediators,” after which Azerbaijan received the green light to attack.
2. During the war itself, the Armenian authorities turned the front into a “complex”, unable or unwilling to organize their duty as a state to transition to military rails.
3. According to numerous testimonies, Nikol Pashinyan did not want to stop the war when Hadrut and Shushi had not yet fallen, thus allowing the Azerbaijanis to develop their successes inside Artsakh.
4. After the November 9 statement, Pashinyan and his teammates refused to leave the Nagorno-Karabakh issue to posterity, as suggested by the Russian side, ran to Prague and recognized Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, which gave Russia, stuck in the Ukrainian front, a legitimate opportunity to make concessions to Azerbaijan and Turkey at our expense.
5. The government, which gave the Goris-Kapan highway and many other territories to the Azerbaijanis without firing a single shot, refused to fulfill point 9 of the statement it signed itself, to provide a road for Russian troops, which allowed Aliyev to close the Lachin corridor and starve the people of Artsakh for about a year.
6. After the resignation of his protégé Arayik Harutyunyan in Artsakh, a deadlock situation was created in the country, the people of Artsakh, faced with the fact, elected Shahramanyan as president in a situation when “the matter was over”.
7. On Pashinyan’s instructions, the RA Armed Forces silently watched as the people of Artsakh, who had been starving for a year and had no chance to resist, were being massacred.
8. After the fall of Artsakh, the CP members declared with Kayin pride that “the Republic of Armenia has restored its sovereignty”.
This is the main course of events, documented, with testimonies, the history of the recent past, the evidence of which is in the thousands.”
