“It became known recently that the Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan visited the “Spayka” company. Moreover, he was not alone: the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Armenia, Marieke Harriet Monroy-Winter, also participated in the visit.
The official report states that the purpose of the visit is “to get acquainted with the production of tulips in greenhouse conditions.” What is the point, do tulips create such a situation in our economy that they have become a reason for such attention individually? It turns out that “Spayka” is indeed increasing the production of tulips year by year.
Moreover, they are exported exclusively to the international market. In particular, if in 2023 they grew 9 million tulips here, then in 2024 the production volumes increased, reaching 17 million. Moreover, this year, 37 million poppies have already been grown, which are also planned to be fully exported. Let's add that "Spayka" has about 2,500 employees, of which 1,500 are greenhouse workers.
Moreover, the total area of the greenhouse farm is 67 hectares. The presence of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands also became understandable. It turns out that the equipment installed in the greenhouse farm was mainly imported from the Netherlands." More details in today's issue of the newspaper
