Russia will respond soon

Moscow is working on responding to the US sanctions against the Russian energy sector and will take measures that will satisfy the interests of the country and companies, Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

He emphasized that the Kremlin is analyzing the situation.

"We are talking about taking the measures that will minimize the consequences of these measures and that will best serve the interests of our country, first of all, and our companies," Peskov said, according to Euromedia24.com.

When asked whether Moscow would respond to similar restrictions, he replied that "nothing can be ruled out".

On January 10, the USA imposed new sanctions on Russia's energy sector. The restrictions, in particular, concerned the heads of "Gazprom Neft", "Lukoil", "Tatneft", "Achimgaz", "Ruskagbureniye" and "Layavozhneftegaz".

The press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, stated that in this way, the current US President Joe Biden's administration is trying to leave a difficult legacy in relations with Moscow, which should be dealt with by the elected US leader Donald Trump's government.
