Torosyan suggests presenting professional measurements of air pollution

Arsen Torosyan, deputy of the CP faction of the National Assembly, proposed to present professional measurements regarding the air pollution of the capital.

"Dear compatriots, lately there has been a lot of talk about air pollution in the city of Yerevan. Of course, I am not an expert on the environment or air pollution, and what I will say now, consider that we are thinking out loud together, as citizens concerned about the problem. You may have noticed that when talking about air pollution, this website is usually referred to. :https://www.iqair.com/armenia/yerevan.

When I opened this site, I had a simple question, where does it get its data on air pollution?

After opening the corresponding page, it turned out that the data sources for the city of Yerevan cannot be considered reliable and professional in any way.

I am posting them with the attached picture so that you can see for yourself. I am also posting sources from the same site for London, Milan, and Vienna so you can see what reliable sources the same site pulls from for those cities.

In order to eliminate the information confusion and resulting panic about this issue, I believe that the Municipality of Yerevan, the Ministry of Environment and Health should regularly present to the public real and professional measurements of air pollution and also comment on their impact on our health.

The above does not in any way mean that there is no air pollution in Yerevan or elsewhere, but only reliable information will allow us to understand the true depth of the problem and take real steps to combat it, so that we have as clean air as possible both in Yerevan and throughout the country." he wrote.
