The officers of the Department for Combating Illegal Drug Trafficking of the Criminal Police implemented another intelligence operation on August 20.
At 8:40 p.m., in the village of Ayntap, Ararat region, the criminal police arrested a 50-year-old man from Yerevan on suspicion of illegally acquiring and selling drugs. He was taken to the Masis Community Police Department along with the Mercedes he was driving.
A personal search of his car revealed four packages containing a total of 6.29 grams of heroin.
This was only the first stage of implementing the intelligence operation. There was also information that two foreign men living in Nor Kharberd were regularly selling drugs to Yerevan residents. A criminal case was initiated in the Masis Investigation Department.
Further work aimed at uncovering the entire chain of crime was carried out with the active cooperation of law enforcement agencies. Large-scale operational-investigative measures and investigative actions yielded results on August 31.
As a result of a special measure, at the time of selling 20 grams of heroin for 300 thousand drams, 62-year-old and 46-year-old foreigners were arrested.
By court order, a search was conducted at the residence of the 46-year-old foreigner. 132 grams of heroin, half a gram of opium, 6.5 methadone pills and 20 psychotropic pills were found.
The foreigners were detained. The investigation is ongoing.
