On July 16, at 8:55 p.m., an alarm was received from the Vanadzor Medical Center. A 30-year-old resident of Jrvezh village, Kotayk region, was taken from Hobardzi village for medical treatment with gunshot wounds.
The police found out that the incident occurred near a guesthouse in Hobardzi village, where shell casings, a bullet, and bullets were found.
A criminal case was initiated in the Stepanavan Investigation Department on charges of attempted murder, hooliganism, kidnapping, and illegal possession of firearms.
The discovery of the crime was the result of collaborative work. As a result of extensive operational-investigative measures and investigative actions of the Lori and Kotayk regional departments of the Criminal Police, the Stepanavan department of the Community Police, and the Stepanavan investigation department, it was found that prior to this incident, during a dispute in Jrvezh, a 30-year-old man had beaten a fellow villager, who, in order to take revenge, had organized his murder with his friend.
Learning that he was in a guesthouse in the village of Hobardzi, on July 16, his friends rented a "Nissan" car and drove to the guesthouse armed. Only the 30-year-old man's friend was there, who was forcibly put into the car and taken to another location. The 30-year-old man met near the guesthouse, and a shootout broke out, during which the victim was taken to the "Vanadzor" medical center with gunshot wounds.
However, this did not solve the problem. This time, the 30-year-old victim's 35-year-old friend from Abovyan tried to take revenge, which law enforcement officers managed to prevent.
As part of the criminal proceedings, a Makarov combat pistol was found and seized during searches and other investigative actions.
Some of the persons involved in the crime were found, arrested and presented to the preliminary investigation body. Measures are being taken to identify the others.
