China is deeply shocked and strongly condemns the US strikes against Venezuela and its actions against its president, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
"By taking power from the people of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro has undermined their dignity and right to self-determination.
The military operation that led to Maduro's arrest violates the principle of non-use of force. Any lasting political solution cannot be imposed from outside," stated the French Foreign Ministry.
Colombian President Gustavo Petro described the attack as an "attack on sovereignty" and called on the National Security Council to hold an immediate discussion. Colombia is deploying military forces along the border in preparation for a possible influx of refugees.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva strongly condemned the attack, stating that it crossed the "acceptable limit" and violated Venezuelan sovereignty.
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel described the US actions as "terrorism by a middle state" and a criminal attack on the neighboring region.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the US attack.
The Russian Foreign Ministry described the incident as "armed aggression" and condemned the US actions.
Russia calls on the US to release Maduro and his wife. It also calls on the US and Venezuela to resolve issues through dialogue.
The Prime Minister of Britain stated that although the UK is not involved in this operation, all parties must respect international law and confirm the facts.
The Spanish Foreign Ministry emphasized propriety and the need to reduce tension, and also offered mediation for a peaceful solution.
The Mexican government condemned the US military action, stating that it threatens regional peace and stability.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus joined the ranks of condemning countries, stating that this step threatens international peace and security beliefs.
