Preparations for the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Iran are underway, but a definite date has not yet been set. Esmail Baghai, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, announced this during a briefing.
"The visit is planned and we will definitely announce it as soon as the time and dates are decided," the diplomat said. In April of this year, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi went to St. Petersburg on an official visit.
He met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, after which he announced that relations between Moscow and Tehran will be strengthened, and that partnership with the Russian state is of strategic importance for Iran and is valued at the highest level.
