Iran was planning an assassination attempt on President Donald Trump during his visit to Ankara for a NATO summit. Channel 12 of Israel reported this, referring to intelligence data. According to the channel, Iranian officials viewed Trump's visit to Ankara as a unique opportunity.
The New York Times journalists explained the change of the plane by the fact that the donated plane was not equipped with an anti-missile defense system.
But Channel 12 says the move came after receiving intelligence about Iran's intention to kill Trump.
