A banknote of the supposed common currency of BRICS was seen in Putin's hand (photos)

During the BRICS summit held in Kazan, Russian President Vladimir Putin was presented with a BRICS banknote, which turned out to be not real, but symbolic. As the journalists noted, the head of the country left the hall with the banknote in his hand, which he then showed to the ministers with a smile. He handed the banknote to the head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiulina.

The latter did not like the banknote, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the head of state, said later.

He suggested that the symbolic banknote be printed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. At the same time, Peskov called the banknote "quasi-money". According to the president's press secretary, it is a symbol of the joint work of the BRICS member countries. The banknote depicts the symbols of the union and the flags of its member countries.
