The Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow has granted the motion to choose detention as a preventive measure against Viktor Vasin, reports the press service of the Moscow Courts.
Investigative bodies charged Vasin with attempted murder and illegal arms trafficking.
The assassination attempt against Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev was made in Moscow on February 6. The general was taken to the hospital in serious condition. According to mass media, on February 7, Alekseev underwent a successful operation and regained consciousness.
The BBC Russian service wrote that Alekseev oversaw the operation of the "Wagner" MRC for several years, and the EU named the lieutenant general responsible for the transfer of "Novichok" to Salisbury.
Russian citizens Lubomir Korba, Viktor Vasin, as well as his son Pavel were arrested in the case of the assassination attempt against Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev.
