The representatives of Armenia and Turkey met on the Armenian-Turkish border and discussed the issue of restarting the Akhurik-Akyaka railway crossing.
RA NA Deputy Speaker, special representative of the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey, Ruben Rubinyan, said this on the air of the Public Television Company.
"The meeting took place in the context of the agreement reached at the last meeting. We agreed that the parties will make a technical assessment of the needs necessary for the reactivation of the Akhurik-Akyaka railway crossing. which will be responsible for the joint restoration of the Ani bridge", said Rubinyan.
Ruben Rubinyan noted that although the technical details of the reactivation of the railway are being discussed, there is no political agreement to reactivate it.
"There is no political agreement, but the process can also be the other way around. The two sides, understanding and understanding that their final goal is the complete opening of the border of the two countries, and there is such a perception, we are also preparing for it with such contacts," he added.
