Diplomacy is a form of official activity conducted by heads of state, governments and special bodies in order to implement the state's foreign policy, its rights abroad, and protect its interests.
Artak Zakaryan, a member of the RPA Executive Body, wrote about this on his Facebook page.
In particular, he noted:
"The years of Serzh Sargsyan's government were distinguished by Armenia's active diplomatic efforts, full of foreign political agendas, raising Armenia's external image and protecting the various rights of our citizens abroad.
2008-2018 those agendas included:
Promotion of Artsakh's right to self-determination and peaceful negotiation process in all countries and international structures.
Ensuring international political support for the negotiation process within the framework of the OSCE Council,
International recognition of the Armenian Genocide in all countries and international structures.
Increasing the military defense capabilities of Armenia and military-political cooperation,
.Promoting Armenia's economic priorities and national interests in various UN structures, SCO, STH, TRACECA,
Ensuring regional security and military-political balance,
. Formation of multifaceted, comprehensive partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation with the EU and member states,
.Increasing the volume of foreign trade with Russia, the EU and third countries,
.An attempt to normalize Armenian-Turkish relations without preconditions
Active work in the OSCE for the purpose of strengthening democracy and human rights, establishing security, peace and stability in Armenia.
Active work in the EC to strengthen justice and democratic institutions in Armenia.
.in the development of local government activities, human rights and fundamental freedoms and other issues,
Bilateral and multilateral foreign cooperation in energy, culture, education, agriculture, finance and credit, anti-terrorism and other fields.
.Active parliamentary diplomacy with more than 50 countries and 10 inter-parliamentary international organizations.
During the years of the previous governments, Armenian diplomacy recorded concrete results in every field. Armenian diplomats and representatives were respected in their host countries and structures.
Official Yerevan had an agenda full of its diplomatic circles and profitable topics to talk about in almost every place. The citizen of Armenia, all the Armenians living in the world benefited from all of that. And what is the external bloc of Nikol Pashinyan's government busy with today?
Government 2021-26 most of the foreign political agendas outlined in the program have simply failed. They do not have a sovereign topic to discuss with any country or organization, and reliable and mutually beneficial agendas stemming from the specific interests of Armenia.
The world is standing on the threshold of historical changes and events, and Armenia's foreign policy has either been idle, or is being tossed here and there like a ping-pong ball, becoming a headache and an unnecessary burden for international relations.
And in some cases, from the point of view of other interests, it is directly used in global developments.
The foreign policy of Armenia led by Nikol remained alone and abandoned from all sides.
