The United States must compensate Iran 1 trillion dollars for the damage caused by the sanctions against Tehran. This was announced by General Ali Shamkhani, deputy commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for legal affairs.
"The Americans should pay Iran 1 trillion dollars in compensation for the damage they have caused to our country by restraining it," - according to TASS, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Iran quotes him as saying.
The general noted that the US started imposing sanctions on Iran after the Islamic Revolution and the seizure of the "nest of spies" (the American embassy in Tehran), not after Washington's withdrawal from the nuclear deal.
Shamkhani noted that the authorities of the United States in the Middle East support terrorist groups that harm the national security of the Islamic Republic.
