According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the attacks were carried out on September 19 and 20, during the ongoing State Duma elections in Russia.
The department announced that drones and "Flamingo" cruise missiles were used during the attack.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia claims that the purpose of the attack was to disrupt the State Duma elections.
State Duma elections in Russia are held on September 18-20. As a result of the elections, the new composition of the lower house of the parliament will be formed, 450 deputies will be elected.
