On the evening of September 2, officers of the Kanaker-Zeytun Police Department received operational information that armed individuals were arguing on Gogol Street in the capital.
Community police officers immediately went to the scene. Noticing law enforcement officers, the participants in the argument fled, but their escape was short-lived.
At 18:10, three young men were arrested on suspicion of committing hooliganism with the use of weapons, as well as illegally carrying cold weapons and firearms and were transferred to the Kanaker-Zeytun Department.
A personal search of a 20-year-old resident of Kievyan Street revealed a knife with a concealed lock and a combat pistol. A personal search of a 19-year-old resident of Aram Khachatryan Street revealed a loaded assault rifle and a knife with a concealed lock.
A criminal case was initiated in the investigative department of the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district.
Measures are being taken to clarify all the circumstances of the incident and identify the other participants.
The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
