On August 21, 2026, a criminal proceeding was initiated and is being carried out in the Serious Crime Investigation Department of the Yerevan City Investigation Department regarding the circumstances of brutally beating 2 investigators of the investigation department of the relevant administrative district of the RA Criminal Investigation Department of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs and committing hooliganism by the relevant officer of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs Police and about 20 or more persons who are friends with them, as well as relatives. This is reported by the Investigative Committee.
As part of the proceedings, the aforementioned police officer and 2 other persons related to him were arrested.
The policeman was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

Realizing the inevitability of criminal responsibility for his actions, the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs police officer, immediately after his arrest on August 21, both personally and through the involved defense attorney, submitted statements to the body implementing the proceedings regarding his alleged torture, immediately after which the body implementing the proceedings, on its own initiative, organized the process of subjecting the arrested person to a medical examination both in the administrative building and in the relevant medical institutions, which also denied the case of allegedly being subjected to violence.
In criminal proceedings, urgent evidentiary and other administrative actions are carried out in order to reveal the case of the alleged crime and bring all guilty persons to criminal responsibility.
