At 11:45 on August 14, the operational control center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs 112 received an alarm about a theft. a suitcase with jewelry was taken from the warehouse of the "Vernisage" open-air fair in the capital.
The officers of the department for combating crimes against property of the Criminal Police Department of Yerevan City rushed to the scene of the incident. It turned out that silver jewelry worth 50 thousand dollars was stolen from the warehouse between 9:35 and 9:45.
Criminal proceedings were initiated in the investigative department of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts.
As a result of the operative and investigative measures, the Criminal Police found out that the theft was committed by a 43-year-old resident of Nerkin Charbakh of the capital, who, hours after the alarm, at 17:10, was found near his house, arrested and taken to the department with the stolen suitcase.
The investigation is ongoing.
