The RA Anti-Corruption Committee informs that in accordance with the decision No. 364-A of the Syunik Marz Governor of RA, dated August 3, 2026, regular elections have been scheduled in Goris and Meghri communities of the same marz, and in accordance with the decisions of the RA Lori Marz Governor No. 590-A and 591-A of August 4, 2026, in the Stepanavan and Fioletovo communities of the same marz.
"According to Article 221 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, from the date of entry into force of the decision on the appointment of elections until the summary of the election results, giving (promising) any property or providing services (promising) to voters for free or on preferential terms by a candidate, a member of a party (alliance of parties) or an authorized person, a proxy, personally or on behalf of them (including a party or alliance) or in any other way or under the name of charity, or providing services (promising) or campaigning at the same time as charity implementation causes criminal liability.
At the same time, the Anti-Corruption Committee informs that with the full range of powers and tools assigned to it, in cooperation with partner law enforcement agencies, it will monitor and control the election process, urging to refrain from any illegal action that violates the prohibition of charity, clarifying that any violation of the requirements established by the law will receive an adequate and strict legal response," the committee informs.
